Created by Frank A. Tropea in the aftermath of September 11, 2001, Vote To Rebuild offered a place to advocate for rebuilding the World Trade Center Twin Towers and to discuss what should take their place. Twenty-five years later, its creator has brought the site back to preserve a record of that moment.

Recovered pages span several archive dates. The homepage’s original animated header, accompanying images and all seven Photo Captions photographs were recovered from the Library of Congress web archive. On September 11, 2001, New York, as well as the rest of the world, suffered tremendous losses which included thousands of lives, countless businesses and the World Trade Center - a true symbol of strength and prosperity.

Here is your opportunity to voice your opinion regarding the fate of the WTC.  Do we rebuild them?  Do we build something bigger and better?  Do we simply create a modest memorial?

As a response to the calls for rebuilding from your poll, various newsgroups, the current owner of the Towers property, and Donald Trump (among others); I wish to submit this attached design to the general public. The design's purpose is to inspire our imagination, hope, and our American Spirit during this time of desperation and crisis.
  
As an added note, the interior lobbies of the towers would be filled with gold-leafed angels representing each person who died. (Every culture has some form of angel-being, so please don't feel my symbology is purely Judeo-Christian.)

In the event that rebuilding the towers is deemed impractical, I think it is imperative that a design competition be held, with a mandate that the replacement complex be multi-use (incorporating residential, retail, recreational/cultural and office space), larger in square footage than the buildings that have been lost, and incorporating design elements that both respect the lives lost on the site, and reflect the multitude of cultures that make up the world. It should be a city within a city, symbolic of the American spirit and sensibility. And it should go up quickly, to show our resolve.

I think they should rebuild the WTC because it means alot to some people in america. Their is another reason why they should rebuild the WTC because the people in Afghanistan will know that we are strong and not weak and afraid. I think that they really should because It would feel like the old america again. America should raise  money to build a new WTC. I think that america should be caring enough to build a new WTC. It should be rebuilt to be a memorial to those who got hurt and lost their lives.

Sirs,

I think it's imperative to rebuild the World Trade Centers on a grand scale if for no other reason than to show our enemies that we will not bow down to their attempts to destroy us. We will have faith in our national security going forward as the war on Terrorism and Terrorist states intensifies and begins to bear fruit.

New York's preeminence as a World Class city in the land of freedom and opportunity can not and will not be diminished by "defeatist" attitudes that would have us frightened and hunkered down in inconspicuous caves - Like the Taliban.

Our expressions of architecture as well as with all facets of American life must not be dictated by foreign elements whose intent is to demoralize and destabilize us.

As Winston Churchill said during WWII's,  Battle of Briton,  "We Will Never Surrender" -  All Americans must band together and resist those who want us to surrender. And we know they are:  Arab suicidal, jealous, mass murderers to all that are not Islam!!
